Urban Solutions has adopted a curriculum which
has been proven effective in giving teens the assertive
communication and refusal skills they need to delay
sexual involvement--and reduce their exposure to HIV/AIDS.
Through the B.A.R.T. (Becoming A Responsible Teen)
Program, interactive group discussions and frequent role
plays educate teens about HIV risks.
Urban Solutions has implemented the B.A.R.T. Program
at South Philadelphia High School and smaller classes are conducted at satellite locations within the South Philadelphia area including the Urban Solutions offices.
The Health Resource Center at South Philadelphia High
School staffs two Urban Solutions certified counselors
who are available to the youth from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday to discuss HIV/AIDS related
issues as well as other reproductive health issues.
The goal of Urban Solutions is to prevent HIV/AIDS
through youth education by providing access to HIV/AIDS
information and testing. If you are interested in having
